The Lorraine Gorman Foundation
Our Community Footprint
No One Overlooked
The Lorraine Gorman Foundation exists because looking after people with disability shouldn't depend on whether they fit neatly into a funding category or a system's definition of ‘eligible’.
We work directly within the community, supporting individuals, families and providers to make sure people with disability have access to safe housing, genuine care, and the dignity that they deserve.
Through a range of hands-on programs, we work to directly improve the lives of people with disability in our community.
Alora Living
Built by the Gorman family and led by Lorraine Gorman, Alora Living was designed around genuine accessibility and comfort — not just compliance alone. Drawing on decades of experience in the supported accommodation sector, the homes meet Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) requirements while presenting as exactly what they are: a modern, comfortable place to call home.
Restore A Home Program
Restore-a-Home is dedicated to repairing and redeveloping neglected supported accommodation facilities, turning overlooked buildings into safe, liveable homes. Many residents living in these conditions share a common thread: a mental or physical disability that makes stable housing harder to find and harder to keep. Whatever their situation, we aim to give each person the support and opportunity to transition into a safe, supportive home.
Christmas Giveaway
For many, Christmas means gifts, family and connection. For others — including many residents in supported accommodation — it can be one of the loneliest times of the year. Every year, The Lorraine Gorman Foundation delivers over 200 gifts to residents across 12 supported accommodations in the local area, ensuring they don't spend the festive season without a gift or a visit from someone who cares.
